Learn and Play Family Childcare provides a clean, safe, loving, fun and educational environment. It has a preschool style set up located in a large walk out finished basement. It has various multicultural, developmental and age appropriate toys and activities that assist the children with their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development. I have a weekly theme based educational curriculum that follows the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines, defined by the Department of Early Education and Care. my program includes but is not limited to: daily circle time, reading, music, creative movement, arts and crafts , dramatic play, free play, computer time and outdoor time that includes yard play and walks around the neighborhood, to the town playground and library. I work together with the Wachusett Regional school system to prepare the children for Kindergarten. I am trained in and use the Handwriting Without tears curriculum program and Pre-K Everyday Math program. I incorporate basic Spanish and Sign Language into our circle time and also use the Hooked on Phonics program and The Preschool Prep Company: Meet the Colors, Shapes, Numbers and Letters and also Meet the Sight Words and Phonics. I also use Heidi Songs which is a part of the Rutland kindergarten curriculum. Monthly newsletters, and daily/weekly email photos of your child’s fun filled day are also provided. I participate in the Yours For Children food program and provide all nutritious meals and snacks.

Professional Qualifications:

• Mother of four children

• B.A. in Psychology and working towards a second degree in Early Childhood Education

• Lead Teacher certified for infant/toddler and preschool along with a director 1 and 2 certification through the state

• Licensed in the Department of Early Education and Care since 1998

• Accredited in the National Association for Family Childcare (NAFCC) since 2000

• April 2010 got the WAAEYC (Worcester Area Association for the Education of Young Children) Award for “Family Childcare Professional that has gone above and beyond to impact the lives of children and their families in a positive way and have inspired fellow colleagues in the field of early care and Education. “

• Enrichment Coordinator and a founder of the local family childcare support group, Family Childcare Providers Resource Association (F.C.P.R.A)
